First Session Down!

For a little over a year now, I have been planning on getting tattoos of my mom and dad on my leg. But each time the appointment came around- I canceled it. I was nervous about how they would turn out! I didn't want to be that girl! You know, the one walking around with an ugly tattoo and no one had the heart to tell her. It wasn't because of the tattoo artist- I'd seen lots of his work and it was amazing. I think it was just because I had never gotten a tattoo that was so meaningful. However, I decided the idea had been in my head long enough, and it was time to do it. So I done did it!  The first session was tonight, and it was for about 3 and a 1/2 hours. My God was it painful! But so worth it! Looks just like the picture. Can't wait to get it all finished up!

Baby's First Cold Sore

This morning when Jaylinne woke up, she had horrible sores on her face! I had no idea what they were, and I immediately panicked. I made her an appointment at her doctor's office, and come to find out it wasn't the plague...it was just a few bad cold sores :) They prescribed her some medicine, and we were on our way. I have never had a cold sore before, so I didn't know what they looked like! I'm sure her doctor's office had a good laugh at my expense!

Sunday Funday!

Today was SO nice outside! After the winter we have had, we decided we better get out and enjoy it while we can! We signed up for a co-ed softball league that starts is April, so we went to the park and got a little bit of practice in. Nice weather, fresh air, and a little bit f exercise?! Sign me up!

Thank God we had a practice! I don't always catch softballs...but when I do- it's with my shins. Ouch! Happy Sunday!

My First Time Snowboarding

Yesterday, for our friend Ben's birthday, we got a group of people together to go skiing and snowboarding at Snowbird Ski Resort in Little Cottonwood Canyon. Everyone we went with was pretty experienced with either skiing or snowboarding...except for Brad and me.

Brad found a pretty good deal that got us lessons and a day pass for a good price, so I decided I better go with him while I could so I wouldn't have to go alone!

Needless to say, I found out the hard way that I am nowhere near as coordinated as I once thought! It was definitely a learning experience. I'll need a few more lessons before I hit anything other than the bunny hills, that's for damn sure!

All in all, it was a good day spent with good friends, and I'm glad I decided to tag along! My body is sure feeling it today, I feel like I was run over by a truck ;)

*Valentine's Day 2014*

Let's be honest, Valentine's Day is severely over-rated. Throughout my adult life, I have never been a fan of it. However, when I was growing up, my parents made a big deal about it for us kids, and because of that, I enjoy making it a big deal for Jaylinne also :)

For quite some time, she has been going on and on about Heelys- which are shoes with retractable wheels on them. I don't know the reasoning behind it, but for the past few months she has been quite convinced she will not be able to continue living without them! Ryan and I decided we would go ahead and surprise her with a pair for Valentine's Day. We got her a few other goodies as well. We laid them out after she went to sleep the night before so she would wake up and see them :)

For her valentines to take to school, we decided to make her classmates mixed CDs with some of her favorite songs on them.I made "CD sleeves" out of valentine themed scrapbook paper, and Ryan helped me make labels for each CD! We had Jaylinne "autograph" each one, and on some, she even drew a picture with it! Don't worry, in case you couldn't tell what it was she drew, she wrote a description next to each one: pig, cat, dog, fish, shirt. Where she comes up with these ideas, I'll never know ;)

For her class party, which I was also in charge of, we made some goodie bags that has stickers, pencils, bookmarks, pencils and erasers in them.

I was stumped as to what kind of game to do for them to play. I wanted it to have a Valentine's Day theme, so I decided I would make a memory game.  I found pictures of "Love Monsters" on the internet, printed 2 of each one, attached them to some extra scrapbook paper so you could not see through them, and laminated them for extra durability. They turned out really cute, and the hest part is that I'll be able to save them and Jaylinne can play again and again! $9 well spent if you ask me...

The class party was a success! I didn't get to take as many pictures as I would like, but I'm thankful I was at least able to snap a few!

This year, I was even able to surprise Ryan with a gift! That never happens ;) I got him a few sweaters, a pair of pants- which he was in desperate need of- and some cologne. I got up in the middle of the night to put his out too, so he would see it when he woke up. His card was my favorite part! ;) I had Jaylinne get him a card too.

For our "date," we took Jaylinne and her cousin Hadley swimming at the Provo Rec Center. They recently remodeled it, so they have waterslides, etc.. in the pool area. It was a blast!
