Western Conference Finals

This year, RSL made it to the Western Conference Finals and would be playing against the Portland Timbers. In the MLS, there would be 2 legs of this final: one at home and one played in Portland. We decided to go drive out to Portland to cheer them on!

My friend from high school, Jordan, was in Portland for work, so he decided to come to the game with us.

We even won the game! It was a fun trip! On to the MLS Cup against Kansas City :)

I Found My Stools!

Since we have moved into our new place, I have been on the lookout for stools to go at our bar in the kitchen. I wasn't having a whole lot of luck. However, one day while at D.I., I saw some pretty old looking ones that caught my eye. Most of the time, with chairs, it's hard to find something that's both old and in good shape. They seemed to be in great shape, except for the fact that someone tried to refinish them with a dark stain and did it terribly. At only $15 each, I couldn't pass them up! Here are the before and after pictures:

Now they are finished, and in my kitchen, and I couldn't be happier with them! Now I might make some sort of cushions for them.....

A Blast from the Past!

I was looking through some old pictures on our computer today, and I came across these gems! These are from Jaylinne's first day of pre-school: January 5, 2010 Look at those cheeks!?

Halloween 2013

In the days leading up to Halloween, we did the "standard" Halloween activities:

We scored a couple of sweet pumpkins from Grandpa Milt (Ryan's dad.) So we decided to carve and paint those bad boys right up!Ryan helped Jaylinne with pumpkins, and I was in charge of the camera, and snacks!

I made deviled eggs, cupcakes, and roasted pumpkin seeds.  Jaylinne was pretty excited to help me frost the cupcakes :)

On Halloween, the kids in Jaylinne's class got to wear their costumes to school, cause they were going to have a party.  Jaylinne was a witch! This is the first year she didn't want to be one of the Disney princesses! Before school, she started to "cast spells on me," so I decided I had better snap some pictures before I turned into a toad ;)

             

After school, we went trick or treating with Jaylinne's cousins- from both sides! She had a BLAST!
